THE MONSTERS MEET LARRY CRANDALL
Good morning. About two weeks ago local Public Access TV host Larry Crandall invited me to come on his show to talk about the monsters. And you know me: I don't say no to that sort of thing. Well, Larry just sent me a copy of our interview, and I thought I'd post it for you (with great thanks to Larry for inviting me, and for making the clip available.) It's almost exactly 10 minutes. See what you think, if you feel like killing some time:
Also, I've been sorely remiss in posting about Marguerita at The Poignant Frog. Marguerita was inspired by the HOW Conference Monster and is using him in an ongoing series of amazing illustrations about Sheharazade's stories. You've got to see it to believe it. Here are two of my favorites:

Pretty amazing, isn't it? I've also been gathering a great big wall of Open Source Monsters. So many cool drawings have come in, and I've been so slow on posting them here. I hope you'll forgive me. I'm working a on a way to make that a bit snappier in the future. For now, please give me another day or two, and I'll finally post a new gallery.
Right now, I hope this post finds you well, and that you're staying cool. Feel a moment's cool breeze on your face from the knowledge that 344 LOVES YOU

your shirt in this clip exactly matches the new tone of this 'blog! it makes me feel oddly soothed.

Hi there from Finland! I bumbed into your daily monsters and was really impressed(and addicted).. Anyways I wanted to ask what pens you use and whatnot. The color pens you use are really good and I'd love to know what type they are and where could i get them. Also what kinda paper you use? I study fine arts here in finland and I'm also interested in illustrations and so on.. Hope to hear from you! Take care! :)

Hei Anna-Maija,
Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you like the monsters. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombo ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.
